They need us.

This summer marks the second anniversary of Grace Changes Things and the first anniversary of our foundation. You know how the saying goes...if only we had known then what we know now. Or maybe that would have been too trauma inducing. Who knows, but here we are.
If I hear "these are unprecedented times" one more time, I might vomit. But sadly, it couldn't be more true for trans people. For LGBTQIA+ people. For families and caretakers of trans, non-binary and gender diverse youth. On the daily we experience having our rights ripped away from us. From our kids and loved ones. And, because of gerrymandered districts, there's little we can do to stop it. Except keep showing up.
Last week we released our first impact report for donors who support our foundation. What an incredible display of love, solidarity and support they've shown our community. It's a testament to what one individual, one donation can do to touch the life of a trans kid and the people who love them. And the reality is this—support for our community is dwindling—no, scratch that. It's being EXTERMINATED. Nonprofits that support trans people are being threatened and bullied by our government. If they support us—with housing, mental health services, medical care, calling them by their preferred name or pronouns, sharing books that represent them—their federal grants and state funding will be slashed.
This reality makes foundations like Grace Changes Things critically important. They need us. And they need you. We're so proud to share this report to show you what donations of $25 to$3,000 can do to further our work. Every cent reaches a trans, non-binary and gender diverse kid. The cost of operating Grace Changes Things is funded by our family intentionally so that YOUR support has the most impact.
Other than donate, you can help in other ways. SHARE. Ask friends, families and allies to donate and channel their frustrations into something positive. This is the time to DO SOMETHING for trans kids. And if they ask what $20 can do, show them this report. Together we can change...scratch that...SAVE someone's life. Let's lift them up. TOGETHER. Support our work here.
